At the Complementary Care Center, we offer a wide variety of intravenous therapies. Chelation, high dose vitamin C IV’s, Myers Cocktails, HCL Pushes and a variety of others depending on your needs.
Chelation-this is an intravenous therapy utilizing EDTA (ethylenediamine tetraacetic acid), which is basically four vinegar molecules stuck together. The FDA indication for chelation is lead intoxication. However, over the last 40 years, chelation has been used to help patient with a variety of illnesses. Although this has not been proven by randomized trials, patients will report improvements in heart pain and claudication leg pain. Forty Something Forever is a very good book by Arline Brecher, which I encourage you to read. If you contact the office, we will be happy to send you more information.
Vitamin C IV- high dose vitamin C has been useful for a variety of infectious diseases. Patients who have a variety of chronic infections, chronic fatigue syndrome or fibromyalgia will often obtain benefit from this therapy. Generally, we start with a 15 gram drip, followed by a 25 g then 50 g IV. It appears that vitamin C at high dose turns into hydrogen peroxide intracellularly. Hydrogen peroxide is toxic to viruses, bacteria and cancer cells.
Myers cocktails-the late Dr. Myers popularized this intravenous push. The main ingredient is high dose magnesium. This nutrient is very commonly deficient in a whole host of disorders. It can benefit chronic fatigue syndrome, fibromyalgia, muscle disorders, pain, asthma, migraine and anything that is due to spasm. Vitamin C as well as B vitamins are included along with the magnesium.
HCL push-HCl has been used for quite a number of years to help stimulate the immune system. We've had good success using a combination of HCL and vitamin C in a five to 10 minute IV push. This is useful for colds and other infectious disease problems.
Miscellaneous-we have a variety of other nutrient IV’s which can support patients who are suffering with a wide variety of illnesses. Cancer patients often find improvements in strength and energy. Strengthening the immune system is important when you are suffering with malignancy.
The above statements are the opinions of Dr. Grable and are not supported by the FDA.
